Carys Evans Profile

Skills

I have good organisation and listening skills and manage my time well when completing activities and tasks. I have a good work ethic and always strive to provide the highest quality and respond effectively to communications with other professionals.

Within my new role as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, I am able to bring all of these skills, as well as thinking creatively, to produce resources for clients and liaise with therapists to meet their interests and needs, improving their quality of life. I provide regular social media content, making it engaging, also increasing awareness for special events.

Background

Through my degree in English Language and work experience as a TA, I have valuable knowledge of communication and child language development. I have supported children with autism spectrum disorders, in a Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) Hub, who acquired Speech and Language Therapy. This experience was highly rewarding and taught me ways of adapting my communication, to help them achieve their goals. I am passionate about supporting individuals and improving their quality of life and enabling them to communicate in the best way possible.

I am now enjoying developing my knowledge and experience of Speech and Language Therapy as an assistant at Eg Training. I am progressing my own understanding and development in the field by working with a variety of clients alongside our specialist therapists.

Personal

In my spare time, I like to spend time and socialise with family and friends, keep active by going on lovely walks with my cocker spaniel in the countryside and I love baking delicious sweet treats.

Support

I have great support and guidance from all experienced members of staff at Eg Training. I am keen to learn and develop my knowledge and understanding within the field of Speech and Language Therapy with regular CPD activities, training opportunities and clinical supervision.
