Leanne Argyle Profile

Skills

I manage my own caseload of both paediatric and adult clients with a range of diagnoses including learning disabilities and complex needs. I work with clients with autism, cerebral palsy, down’s syndrome, dementia and mental health needs and dysphagia. I have lots of experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including within ABA/ VB (Applied Behaviour Analysis/Verbal Behaviour) teams and with Case Managers.

I am a qualified Makaton Tutor and a TalkTools Level 3 Therapist. I have also completed post-registration dysphagia training and I run Assistant Dysphagia Practitioner Training courses.

I have experience in working with clients using a range of alternative and augmentative communication means and I provide advice and resources to ensure that the environment is predictable and easy to
understand for a range of clients.

I am organised and manage my time well. I respond to communications in a timely and efficient manner. I am a professional and friendly therapist, always striving for the best for each of my clients.

Background

Before joining Eg (Training) Ltd, I supported children with learning disabilities and complex needs, aged 3-19 years, in a specialist school. I helped the pupils with their academic work and supported them to access a range of extra-curricular activities.

Personal

Family time is of huge importance to me and I am kept very busy with my two young boys. We love days out and in together; visiting new places, exploring in the woods, playing sport and building lego models.

Support

I work as part of a team of therapists with therapy assistants. This allows me to frequently access a range of supervision and professional support alongside regular formal clinical and line management
supervision sessions.

I attend monthly team meetings and access CPD meetings, where we discuss a range of topics. I also present at a range of the CPD meetings, sharing my experience and training with others.
